First OEA Webinar to Cover Writing for CCSS/OAS
OEA’s first Targeted Skill Session webinar is set for 10 a.m., Saturday, November 23, when Lara Searcy, NBCT, M.Ed., conducts “Writing Across the Curriculum for CCSS/OASS.”
Searcy is a middle school literacy resource specialist in Tahlequah.
The webinar is the first in a new effort by the OEA Center for Teaching and Learning to provide quality professional development online, making it easier for educators across the state to receive the training.
Writing Across the Curriculum -- a two-hour, interactive webinar – will cover the three modes of writing and the revised writing process for Common Core/Oklahoma Academic Standards; how to integrate, assign and teach writing within the curriculum, how to evaluate and assess student writing; and writing strategies you can implement immediately.
OEA members can participate in the Writing webinar free of charge. Nonmember can participate by paying the $150 registration fee.
Webinars covering of CCSS/OAS subjects are being planned for December and after the first of the year. Details will be released as dates for those webinars are confirmed.
