Social Justice

The Oklahoma Education Association has a long and distinguished history of promoting human and civil rights and advocating for social justice for Oklahoma’s students, educators, and communities. Facilitated by the work of OEA’s Human and Civil Rights Committee, our members focus on strengthening an awareness of human and civil rights issues, emphasizing the rights of students and school employees, increasing minority participation at all levels of the association, expanding minority recruitment of students into the education profession, and honoring the accomplishments of educators and others who make outstanding contributions to the advancement of human and civil rights. To learn more about OEA’s Human and Civil Rights Committee or to get involved, contact Committee Liaison Bill Guy at bguy@okea.org or (405) 528-7785.
