"The Lorax" Common Core Lesson Plan Contest
Submission deadline extended to Feb. 19th!
Common Core State Standards are being implemented across the state, and the finicky "furry peanut" can help you prepare.
You're invited to create a Common Core lesson plan that features The Lorax. There are three categories: elementary, middle and high school. Submit lesson plans by Feb. 19 and the winner will be announced at the end of the month. Submit contest entries via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You have the chance to win a classroom set of "Cat in the Hat" hats and other great prizes!
Lesson plan entries will be featured on this page of the website and will be available for others to download and use.
You can take a look at examples of Common Core and Read Across America lesson plans and find other resources for planning at the NEA site, the State Department of Education site and the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) site. Also, check out the movie trailer for "The Lorax," coming to theaters in March.
