Heather Cody Joins OEA Staff

Heather Cody has joined the OEA staff as a teaching and learning UniServ specialist for the eastern half of Oklahoma. She will also serve on the Northeast Regional team.

Most recently, Heather taught elementary school at Tulsa’s Mayo Demonstration School. She also taught in a first and second grade combined classroom for a year at Maricopa (AZ) Unified School and a semester at Chouteau Elementary in Tulsa. She has a bachelor’s in elementary education from Northeastern State University.

Heather was a March for Education organizer as a member of the Tulsa Classroom Teachers Association. She was a member of TCTA’s 2016-17 Emerging Leader class and was elected to the TCTA board. She represented teachers as a Tulsan of the Year in 2018.

Heather brings a “…passion for social justice work to bring equality to all,” to her job at OEA. She and her daughter Alayah live in Tulsa.
