Oklahoma Election Guide for Oct. 10, 2017

Elections are scheduled for Oct. 10 in 27 counties across Oklahoma, so be sure to make your plan to vote that day. Several school districts have bond elections Tuesday.

Caddo County

  • Cyril Public Schools, two propositions. One will raise $530,000 to replace lighting throughout the district, create access control, renovate the high school gym lobby and restrooms, and upgrade baseball and football field lighting. The second will purchase a bus for $80,000.
  • Gracemont Public Schools, two propositions.
  • Cyril, one proposition.

Carter County

  • Two county questions.
  • Healdton, one proposition.
  • Springer, one proposition.

  • Cyril Public Schools, two propositions. One will raise $530,000 to replace lighting throughout the district, create access control, renovate the high school gym lobby and restrooms, and upgrade baseball and football field lighting. The second will purchase a bus for $80,000.

Delaware County

  • Turkey Ford Public School, one proposition. The $300,000 bond will upgrade plumbing and electrical systems, repair and replace heat and air units, replace gutters, fix roof leaks, replace floors in classrooms and the gym, upgrade security, add AV teaching aids in the gym, replace the playground surface and upgrade playground equipment.

Jefferson County

  • Ryan Public Schools, one proposition. The $3,535,000 bond will pay for a high school addition with three new high school classrooms, one classroom that doubles as a safe room, a principal/secretary office, and restrooms; renovate three existing high school classrooms; moving the library; upgrading technology infrastructure; and building a new gym lobby, concession area and locker rooms.

  • Purcell Public Schools, two propositions. The $30 million bonds will fund a new junior high with a safe room, football stadium renovations, new band uniforms, technology upgrades and transportation needs.

  • Hilldale Public Schools, one proposition. The $15 million bond would fund a new entrance for the elementary schools, a new elementary school wing with a gym and classrooms, locker rooms, softball/baseball facility expansion, technology upgrades, textbooks, and artificial turf for the football/soccer field.

Oklahoma County

  • Midwest City-Del City Public Schools, two propositions. The $130,600,000 bonds will fund technology upgrades, textbooks and instructional materials, child nutrition equipment, and equipment and uniforms for athletics and fine arts.
  • Putnam City Public Schools, two propositions. The $22 million bonds will fund classroom technology, automated external defibrillators for every school, completion of the Capps Middle School construction project, and buses.
  • Western Heights Public Schools, two propositions. The first proposition would raise $41,760,000 for a new fine arts and science academy, a new English language learner heritage center, technology upgrades, district-wide repairs, and a new scoreboard for football and track. The second proposition would raise $2,200,000 for buses.
  • Midwest City, one proposition.
