Oklahoma Election Guide for Sept. 12, 2017

September 7, 2017

Forty counties across Oklahoma have special elections planned for Sept. 12, so be sure to make your plan to vote that day.

One of those elections is for House District 46, which includes Norman, Noble and rural parts of Cleveland County. The Fund for Children and Public Education has recommended a candidate, and that information is available in the Members Only section of the OEA website. House District 46 was left vacant after Scott Martin resigned at the end of session to work for the Norman Chamber of Commerce.

The Republican primary election for Senate District 37 (Tulsa County) is also Sept. 12 (the OEA Fund is not recommending a candidate for the primary). Sen. Dan Newberry is resigning Jan. 31 for a position at TTCU Federal Credit Union and to write a book. The general election will be Nov. 14.
