Our Hearts Hurt for Uvalde

Another school shooting, this one taking the lives of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, on May 24, 2022, brings pain and sorrow to the nation. Following is OEA President Katherine Bishop’s statement on the tragedy.

“We grieve for the students, staff and families of Robb Elementary and we cry with the entire education community because we all feel the pain of this horrific tragedy. As we mourn for the victims in Uvalde, may we honor their memory with our commitment to make our world a better place and ensure that school is the safest place for our children to be.”
