A.J. Stegall takes social media role

 

A.J. Stegall recently joined the OEA Communications Center as social media communications organizer. As a member of the Comms team, he will manage the association’s social media platforms and create content in other digital areas.

A.J. received a bachelor’s in music education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a master’s of music from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He taught band for nine years, including two years in Sayre, five years in Clinton and two years at Gordon Cooper Middle School in Putnam City.

He opened AJ Stegall Photography in 2008, specializing in portraits and commercial content. To help promote his business, he created a website, development social media content, and print material. He left teaching in 2019 to dedicate full-time to his photography business.

A former president of the Southwestern Oklahoma Band Directors Association and former music director for the Cordell Community Chorale, A.J. remains active in his community. He serves as a board member on the Second Century Board of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and is a member of the Viva Las Sisu Marketing Committee of Sisu Youth Services. In addition, he is a chorister for Windsong, a semi-professional choir in Oklahoma City which performs unique virtuoso chamber music in the style of European professional ensembles.

Even though he left the teaching profession for other endeavors, A.J. still holds a special place in his heart for students, teachers, and public education.

“As a former classroom teacher, I’m excited to be able to help Oklahoma teachers in whatever small way I can to make their lives better,” A.J. said of his role in the OEA Communications Center.
