Just before the holidays, Dusty Livingston joined the OEA staff as the NW/SW Team Assistant.
Dusty has a vast history of working in education for the last 20 years. She started her career as a paraprofessional and worked as a secretary, registrar, and transportation staff member.
Additionally, Dusty fulfilled several leadership roles in her local association, including president. She was also a member of the OEA Board of Directors.
In her many roles, Dusty was inspired to be an advocate for her fellow Education Support Professionals (ESPs).
“I have been in education at so many different levels and saw the need for ESPs to have a voice, ” Dusty shared.
Her new role at OEA has helped grow her passion and understanding of the work being done for educators and ESPs across the state.
She explained, “When the position presented itself, I thought this could be another way to assist those throughout the state, not just my local. I am learning so much about what goes on behind the scenes and how much every one of us at this level care about all of our members!”
A self-proclaimed “outdoors girl”, Dusty enjoys camping, kayaking, horseback riding, and anything else that involves being outside. She also has two children who have grown into adults she enjoys hanging out with.
We will miss Dusty’s leadership in her governance roles but welcome her expertise and enthusiasm as she steps into an OEA staff position. Tip off your cowboy and cowgirl hats and join us in welcoming Dusty to the OEA staff!
