Jacki McFarland Joins NW Team

Jacki McFarland, a legal assistant from Enid, has joined the OEA staff as an advocacy specialist in the Northwest Region.

McFarland is working with local associations in northwest Oklahoma, helping them negotiate contracts with their school boards, providing member rights and grievance representation, and membership promotion and recruitment, among other duties.

Most of her professional experience has been as a legal assistant for law firms in Enid and Guymon, assisting attorneys with research and filling/recording legal documents. As a freelance consultant early in her career, McFarland facilitated an anger management program for seventh graders. She also served as a first-time offender program facilitator for Western Plains Youth and Family Services.

“Two of my children are educators and another is majoring in education at OSU, so I’ve been able to witness the relationships built between OEA and educators firsthand,” McFarland said. “I have a desire to help people and there’s not a better profession to represent than our public educators!”

Jacki has a bachelor’s in human environmental sciences from Oklahoma State University. She and her husband Chip have five children.
