Melia Melton recently joined the OEA as the assistant for the Teaching and Learning and Organizing centers as well as receptionist at the association headquarters in Oklahoma City.
Melia retired after 36 years as a court reporter in Oklahoma City and Cleveland County. She also served as a program instructor at Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee where she was instrumental in implementing a new court reporting curriculum.
She earned an associate’s degree in applied science-court reporting from Amarillo (TX) College; was certified by the Oklahoma and Texas Supreme Courts as a shorthand reporter and was registered as a professional reporter and a merit reporter by the National Court Reporters Association.
