Former Edmond teacher Paige Goad has joined OEA as the assistant for the Legislative and Political Organizing and Communications centers.
She will support both departments with clerical tasks, database management and meeting planning.
Paige was a Title I teaching assistant one year and taught fifth grade English, writing and social studies for a year, both at Northern Hills Elementary. She earlier worked as a supervisory/master teacher at Renaissance Schools-Sangre in Stillwater, a product and marketing manager at Old Navy, and a dispatcher/office manager for Washita Valley Enterprises.
A native of Mooreland, Okla., Paige earned a bachelor’s in history with a minor in child development psychology at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. She hopes to complete her master’s in curriculum and leadership studies at Oklahoma State University this fall.
“I’m excited to work at OEA because it is a combination of two of my most foundational beliefs: education is the backbone of our society and advocating for stronger protections of employees’ rights helps to protect our society,” Paige said. “I’m eager to help advocate for the thousands of classroom teachers and support professionals who do such important, transformative work in the state of Oklahoma.”
Paige and her husband Dustin live in Oklahoma City.
