Robin Bennett Joins OEA as Comptroller

Robin Bennett, a certified public accountant with more than 30 years of experience in financial and tax reporting, has joined the Oklahoma Education Association as comptroller.

Since 2000, Bennett operated her own CPA firm, managing the accounts of 200 clients. Her responsibilities included preparing financial statements and tax returns for small businesses, nonprofits and individuals, and assisting small nonprofits with bookkeeping and tax filings.

Prior to building her own firm, she performed similar tasks for CPA firms in Tulsa, Tahlequah and Ada.

Bennett earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oklahoma City University. Her husband, D.A., is the senior pastor at St. Andrew’s Community United Methodist Church in south Oklahoma City. They have three children: Garrett, 24, is studying to be an electrician and Jonathan, 18, and Charis, 16, attend Southmoore High School.

“Coming to the OEA is major career change for me,” she said, “but, I have a passion for education and that’s what excited me about joining the staff.”
